WHO YA GONNA CALL

I just watched the all-female “Ghostbusters” reboot and guess what, I loved it. I loved watching geeky, badass ladies save the world (obviously). I loved the subtle-yet-hysterically-funny commentary about women in science. Like when Professor Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) looked down at her fully buttoned, tweedy outfit and asked, “Too sexy for academia?” I loved the gender stereotype reversal of the beefcake receptionist. Like how Kevin (Chris Hemsworth) was so dimwitted and two-dimensional, he was only given a first name. And I loved how the movie passed the Bechdel test with flying colors. I look forward to a sequel – this time next year?
